I had a discussion with a friend the other day where he admitted that his girlfriend 'never has anything nice to say.'
Why is it that people will be polite to strangers but rude or even mean to the people they say they love? As a person who would die if I ever hurt the people that I love, and therefore have died a million deaths in my lifetime, I don't quite understand.
I know people who have pessimisn and cynicism so deeply ingrained in their personalities that they don't even realize that they emanate negativity. Being around these people is exhausting for me. Part of me wants to counter every negative comment with a neutral or even optimistic one until I realize that the person I'm talking to isn't trying to start a discussion around these comments, the comments are as natural a response to a sitaution as is taking the next breath. I think I'm a person who is really sensitive to negativity, and being constantly barraged with such is more than I can take sometimes.

Thunderous Silence
I've changed the URL of my blog just as a measure of increased anonymity. I didn't feel any direct threat from the URL being my name... just... I don't know... anonymity is good.
I am a person who cannot get enough privacy. I'm very solitary at my core. An introverted extrovert, socially, but personally an introvert through and through.
I'm not a person that craves intimacy or feels a great desire to pour my heart out in front of another person. Of course I appreciate the importance of intimacy and enjoy a good dose of it, but when I don't have intimacy (emotional) with another person, I can't say that I really miss it. Need it.
I'm not saying that I don't need friends, close ones even, but I am truly, truly content with myself. Alone. I'm content with my desire for privacy and jealous of my solitude.
It truly is a joy to be hidden.
